Lisa's Story
Life
I went to Jr. High at the now non-existant Crescent Jr.Hi.(yay Crusaders!) and sadly experienced the separation from some of my friends as 1/2 the stus went to Savanna. I completed my Soph.& Jr. years at Western, spent my first semester Sr. year at Montclair HS, then finished up at Orange HS. But Western is "MY" high school. I live in San Luis Obispo County, CA where I have lived since 1983 after a short stint in the CCC in Paradise, CA. I was a FireFighter/EMT for CDF for 6 seasons; I got into bodybuilding and fitness while firefighting; worked in a local hospital ER as en EMT; started, owned and operated my own business 12 years ago and again this year, and worked for CalTrans for 6 years until I got badly hurt in a near termianl work accidant 4-1/2 years ago. In between fire seasons I cooked commercially, assembled motorcycles at my friend's local distribution business, and have attended college off and on. I am an avid motorcyclist and have been for nearly 20 years now. I am currently single but have done my share of parenting and think it is the most rewarding experience in life. Even as a step-parent, once a parent, always a parent. I don't know what life will bring next, but I am thrilled with each new day as it unfolds and reveals itself! I have come to understand that life is not a destination but a wonderful journey to be cherished at every moment of today! :-) I have one older brother, John, 18 months beyond me in years and 5 younger siblings who range in age from 10 to 19 (my father started a 2nd fam when I was 18). They attend school in the AUHSD and I am extrordinarily proud of them all!! I am excited about reconnecting with childhood friends and acquiantences!
2007 November Update*****************
Hello There! Happy Holidays to Everyone! It is once again that time of year for gratitude, reflection, and renewal.
While my life has not followe...Expand for more
d the path I had planned from childhood, I have still achieved much, made molehills out of mountains, and am continuing to stride forward towards my goals.
My new business is now nearly 18 months old and like any newborn, it consumes all my time and energy, but it is very rewarding.
I am looking forward to celebrating 3 years with my life partner with the coming of the New Year.
I recently spent a few days in Orange County...whew! Crowded! Expanded freeways... more open land paved over and developed... smog.... traffic noise everywhere... redevelopment of ailing neighborhoods is nice... private toll freeways that only the well off can afford to use to be on time--nice! (yes, that is sarcasm!).
Wouldn't it be nice if our elected individuals in government rebuilt the effeicient mass transportation train system that Reagan dismantled??? I am tired of being taxed for not using the system that no longer exists...Have you ever tried to use the train to get somewhere??? 12 hours to arrive at a 5 hour car travel destination! Ridiculous!
Hope you are all healthy (physically and mentally), enriched from loved ones, and gaining wisdom. Happy Holidays!

OK...times are tough. The economic meltdown has hit me hard. Business is slow. Finances are failing. Scary. But...I am hanging on. I know I am not alone in getting pinched in the meltdown and the only thing any of us can do is hang on.
